Maltman's Hill ductwork cleaning
Ductwork cleaning for Maltman's Hill, from a team that has been trading since 2009. Evenings, overnight and weekends, plus a 24/7 emergency line.
- A grease test showing the duct is overdue
- An insurer asking for TR19 evidence
- A duct nobody has opened in years
How we price ductwork cleaning
The diagnosis comes before the price. The main factors are:
- Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
- Whether several sites go on one quote
- The condition we find in the survey
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
What you pay depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and how easy it is to reach. You get a fixed price before work begins, so you know where you stand.
Asking for a quote
Many jobs can be priced from pictures and some basics. Useful things to send:
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- Wide photos of the system and the area around it
- Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.
How we handle ductwork cleaning in Maltman's Hill
Duct Doctor has cleaned kitchen extract ductwork since 2009, working across London and the South East. As a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, our duct cleaning is done to BESA TR19® Grease, and our certificates are issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. The work covers multi-storey ducts, bends and junctions and access panels, and people most often call us about high readings at a recent grease test and a duct clean needed for an insurer.
For a kitchen in or near Maltman's Hill, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.
Every visit ends with a written report and photos, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Why it’s worth doing now in Maltman's Hill
Old grease in a duct for a kitchen in Maltman's Hill doesn’t stay soft. It bakes into a hard layer that takes far longer to remove, so the later the clean, the bigger the job. A planned visit to Maltman's Hill is easier to arrange than an emergency callout.
You won’t find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll explain what it covers.

What we do, step by step
There are three stages on the day: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Set-up means sheeting and making equipment safe, while signing off means the written report and pictures. Most of the time goes on the work itself, and that takes a shift or more, depending on the length of the runs and the number of access points. In a small place like Maltman's Hill, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.
- The duct route is surveyed and every access point found.
- We take grease readings along the route.
- Out of hours, the area is protected and the access panels opened.
- Heavy deposits come out by hand, then each section is degreased.
- We close up, re-test, photograph and record anything out of reach.
Before we arrive
- Find the previous report, if there is one
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
Getting a quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.
Advice
What we are called out for in Maltman's Hill
Ducts in Maltman's Hill gather grease for the same reasons as ducts anywhere: hours of cooking, the type of food and how well the filters are kept. BESA guidance sets minimum intervals of 3, 6 or 12 months depending on daily use.
These are the problems we see most often:
- Stale grease odours from the duct
- Grease pooling at the foot of the riser
- Duct runs with no cleaning record
- A grease test showing the duct is overdue
Older buildings often hide long, awkward duct runs, and if you run a kitchen at a historic venue in the area (Godinton House is about 5 miles east), access may need planning.
What your quote should include
- What insurance they carry
- Exactly which parts of the system are covered
- Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
- If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate

When something else is needed
Some problems need a different service or another trade:

- Faulty fire dampers

In-house cleaning or a specialist?
When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.
Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.
Aftercare tips
After the visit, a few habits help the work last:
- Keep to the interval on the report
- Flag drips from the duct right away
- Get panels fitted where the duct couldn’t be cleaned
- Leave a way through to the access panels
The report gives a recommended next clean date, based on the readings and your daily cooking hours, in line with BESA guidance.
Keep to the cleaning interval on the report. A change in cooking hours may change the interval under BESA guidance, and grease thickness testing will show it.
