Canopy Cleaning in Faberstown
Canopy cleaning across Faberstown and nearby, timed so the site keeps working and finished with a written report and pictures.
- Fat running down the front of the hood
- Poor capture at the hood
- A hood coated in old grease
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the system between visits is straightforward, and it helps at the next visit:
- Run the extract the whole time you’re cooking
- Keep every filter in place while cooking
- Use non-abrasive cloths on the hood
- Report new drips or smells from the canopy
The kitchen is handed back clean, with the sheeting gone and the waste removed. Every filter is refitted and checked, and the kitchen is ready to cook.
Wipe the canopy surfaces at the end of each day. It does not reach the plenum, but it stops the outside building up.
Canopy cleaning in Faberstown, done properly
Every canopy we clean in Faberstown gets the same treatment: filters out, plenum scraped and degreased, then the canopy cleaned inside and out. You get pictures of the canopy before and after. The work covers plenum chambers, baffle filters and grease gutters, and people most often call us about a sticky, discoloured canopy and filters that never seem to stay clean.
Somewhere as small as Faberstown, commercial kitchens are few: perhaps a pub, a school or care home kitchen, or a hall used for events. Every one of them still needs its extract kept clear of grease.
Good records are part of the job. Each visit is written up with pictures, listing what was done, anything we couldn’t reach and when the next visit is due. File it in your maintenance log so it’s to hand when an insurer or inspector asks.

What canopy cleaning cannot fix
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what canopy cleaning will not do:
- A hood that doesn’t cover the cooking line
- Ductwork and fans beyond the canopy (those need a full TR19 clean)
- Poor airflow from a fan that needs repair
If you are not sure, just call us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

- Baffle filters
- Plenum chambers
- Grease gutters
- Canopy light fittings
- Wall canopies
- Island canopies
The process
Night work is normal for us. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes an hour or two for one small canopy, longer where there are several. Visits to a village like Faberstown are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.
- First the canopy is surveyed, by photos or in person.
- The range is turned off and allowed to cool before we cover it.
- We remove the grease filters and clean the plenum and filter housing.
- We degrease the canopy shell, its seams and the grease troughs.
- We refit the filters, clear up and photograph the finished canopy.
Before we arrive
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Arrange a key holder or contact on site

Common problems we fix in Faberstown
Most canopies have troughs or channels that catch running grease. If they’re not emptied, they fill and overflow, and grease ends up dripping from the canopy edge.
What we are most often called out for:
- A hood coated in old grease
- Grease dripping from the canopy edge
- Grease filters blocking between washes
- A canopy flagged at an environmental health inspection
If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Church of St Peter in the Wood or elsewhere in Faberstown, its extract still collects grease from every lunch and event.
What to look for in a quote
- Whether a written report and photos are included
- Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
- What hours they’ll be on site
- Whether VAT is included
Fixed quotes for canopy cleaning in Faberstown

- The times the site is available
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- Parking and loading at the site
- How big the system is
What you pay reflects the actual work. That’s why we survey first, from photos or on site, and why the quote is fixed before we start.

Common questions in Faberstown
Which fire service covers Faberstown?
Faberstown is in the area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. TR19® isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark many fire officers and insurers look to when they ask how often the extract is cleaned.
Do you cover smaller places like Faberstown?
Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Faberstown included. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you clean the canopy outside our opening hours?
We clean out of hours as a matter of course, at night, early in the morning or at weekends. We leave it clean and ready for the next service.
How much notice should we give?
The more notice, the better, particularly for night and weekend visits. We normally quote within one working day, and emergencies are covered by our 24/7 line.
What paperwork do I get after a canopy clean?
You get a photo report with before and after pictures. Full system cleans also come with a TR19 certificate.
How do you protect the area?
With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. The work is kept contained and clean down when we finish.
What happens to the waste?
We take it away at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained so the area stays clean.
Which sectors do you work in?
Commercial premises of every kind: kitchens, offices, schools, healthcare, retail, leisure and food production. We fit the work around how the site operates.

Plenums and filter housings
Filter housings hold the filters in place, and their channels fill with grease. We clean them so the filters sit tight and leave no gaps.
Island canopies
The underside of an island canopy is in full view so a clean, even finish matters. It’s degreased and photographed for your report.
Kitchen extracts in Faberstown
Environmental health officers from Test Valley council inspect food businesses in Faberstown. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. Our report lists what was cleaned and when, which is useful to have ready. Fire safety in Faberstown falls to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises.
