AHU Cleaning in St Mary's
Looking for AHU cleaning in St Mary's? We diagnose first, fix the price and book the work around your hours, finishing with a written report and pictures.
- Blocked condensate drains and slimy trays
- Coils clogged with dust and debris
- Air handling units never cleaned inside
Between visits
To keep the system working properly between visits:
- Stick to the filter change plan
- Keep the area around the fresh air intake clear
- Store the TR19 paperwork where auditors can find it
- Flag stale or damp smells in the supply air
Stick to the filter change schedule, because good filters protect everything downstream. Log every change so it’s easy to see when the next is due.
Keep the unit’s doors and panels in working order. If a section is hard to get into, it tends not to get checked.
AHU cleaning in St Mary's, done properly
Heating and cooling coils trap dust that gets past the filters. A coated coil restricts airflow and makes the unit work harder. We clean coils with methods suited to their condition, taking care not to damage the fins. The work covers filter sections, dampers and louvres and drain trays, and the jobs we see most are intake sections clogged with outdoor debris and coils clogged with dust and debris.
For a building near St Mary's, the visit is planned around how it’s used, and the journey is planned ahead. The work is the same as in any town: inspect, clean, record.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a written report, dated and illustrated with photos, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

What we are called out for in St Mary's
An overdue filter loads up with dirt, cutting airflow and sometimes letting dirty air bypass them altogether. After that, the coils and fan collect what the filter should have caught.
Keep an eye out for these warning signs:
- Condensate trays that will not empty
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
- Air handling units never cleaned inside
- Odours coming through the supply air
If you manage offices or shops near Southampton Central station, their ventilation can be inspected and cleaned out of hours.
What your quote should include
- Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
- Whether the quote is based on a survey or pictures
- Whether a written report and pictures are included
- Whether the quote shows VAT
What affects the quote in St Mary's
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- How easy every part is to reach
- Where the site is and how we reach it
- How big the system is
Combining work into one visit or one programme often makes better use of the time. Mention every system or site you need covered and we’ll price it together.
What we need to know
A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
For a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. We normally come back within one working day.

The process
Night work is normal for us. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so the site can open as normal afterwards. On site, the work takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. For a place like St Mary's, we load the van from the survey notes so the work can be done in one visit where possible.
- First the unit is surveyed, from pictures or a visit, and the scope agreed.
- The unit is shut down with your site team and the area protected.
- Filters, coils, fan section and casing are cleaned in turn.
- Drain trays are cleared and cleaned and the outlet checked.
- A TR19® certificate and photo report follow the clean.
How to prepare
- Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas

Leave it or put it right?
Stuffy rooms and stale smells in a building in St Mary's can sometimes be traced back to the AHU. Cleaning it deals with the cause rather than the symptom. Systems on quieter sites still build up dirt and wear, just more slowly.
Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

What the work involves, part by part
Filters
Filter condition tells you a lot about the rest of the unit. They’re photographed before and after for your records.
Internal casing and panels
Damaged internal linings or loose panels can shed material into the air. We note any we find in the report.
