Smallbridge AHU cleaning
Specialist AHU cleaning for Smallbridge: diagnosis first, then a fixed quote, the work and a report with pictures. Ask us for a fixed quote.

- Stale or musty smells from the ventilation
What the work involves, part by part
Drain trays
A tray that does not drain becomes a pool of stagnant water in the airstream. We clean it and note if the slope or the drain needs attention.
Rooftop and plant room units
Smaller units in ceiling voids are part of the work as well. We protect the area below before opening them.
About our AHU cleaning in Smallbridge
Units vary a lot in size, age and layout, whether it’s a compact unit in a ceiling void or a big unit on the roof. Every job starts with a survey, from photos or on site, followed by a fixed quote before any cleaning starts. Common call-outs are for intake sections clogged with outdoor debris and dirty coils holding back the airflow, on filter sections, internal panels and heating and cooling coils.
In a village or hamlet like Smallbridge, few buildings have mechanical ventilation, but those that do need it inspected and cleaned like any other.
Good records are part of the job. Each visit is written up with photos, listing what was done, anything we couldn’t reach and when the next visit is due. Keep it with your fire safety records so it’s to hand when an insurer or inspector asks.

When to call us in Smallbridge
Dirt in an AHU matters in two ways: air quality, since the unit feeds occupied rooms, and performance, since dirt makes it strain. For anyone working, learning or staying in a building in Smallbridge, that is air they breathe for hours at a time.
These are the problems we see most often:
- Leaves and litter drawn into the unit
- Plant that has been serviced but not cleaned
- Units needing a clean before a new tenant or handover
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
If you run a surgery, dental practice or care home near Smallbridge, clean ventilation matters as much to you as to a hospital like Ticehurst House Hospital (about 5.3 miles south).
What to look for in a quote
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Exactly which parts of the system are covered
- When they can work, and whether that is outside your opening hours
- What records you will receive afterwards
Smallbridge questions
Do you work in villages like Smallbridge?
Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Smallbridge included. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.
Can you come to Smallbridge after we close?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. It means the site in Smallbridge keeps running as normal. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.
How long does an AHU clean take?
Typically the clean takes anything from half a day for one small unit to several shifts for a plant room full of them. The shutdown is planned to fit, including evenings or weekends.
Where does the waste go?
Anything we remove is contained as we work and taken away with us, from grease and debris to used cleaning water. None of it is left on site.
Do you do ventilation duct cleaning too?
Yes. We clean supply and extract ductwork to TR19® Air as well. Cleaning the unit and ducts together often makes sense, and we can survey both on the same visit.
Which sectors do you work in?
We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, plus food production and leisure sites.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes, 24/7. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with the emergency line covering every other hour.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. We run scheduled maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system needs. The report from each visit recommends the next date.
What affects the cost of AHU cleaning
There’s no set price list, because sites vary so much. What we look at:
- Any permits to work or inductions
- Parking and loading at the site
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
- How big the system is
One small site or a whole estate, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the timing. You’ll have a fixed price before any work starts.
Asking for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, gather:
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Any previous report or certificate
- The site address and the type of premises
- Anything you’ve noticed, such as smells, noise, drips or poor airflow
Need a price for AHU cleaning? Please call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with a few details about the site. We will talk you through the work and send you a fixed quote before anything is booked.

Aftercare tips
Once we have finished, these simple steps help:
- Report musty smells from the vents straight away
- Make sure condensate is draining away
- File each AHU report in the maintenance log
- Clear leaves and litter away from the intake
The report shows each section of the unit before and after, along with anything we couldn’t reach. It also notes faults we spotted, such as damaged panels or a blocked drain.
Keep the area around the intake clear. Anything around the intake is likely to be drawn in.
What a clean won’t put right
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- A system that’s undersized for the building
- Coils that are corroded or leaking and need replacing
- Controls and BMS settings that run the unit
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think before booking.
What the work covers
- Drain trays
- Filter sections
- Internal panels
- Dampers and louvres
- Heating and cooling coils
- Supply and extract fans
How it works
Night work is normal for us. Evenings, nights and weekends are when much of our work happens, so a kitchen or building can carry on as usual the next day. On site, the work takes half a day to a full day per unit, with large plant planned over several shifts. If you can send photos, we can arrive in Smallbridge knowing what to expect.
- We start with a survey of the unit and a fixed quote for the work.
- With your site team, the unit is switched off and isolated, then the area around it protected.
- Filters are dealt with as agreed, and the coils, fan and casing cleaned.
- Standing water and slime come out of the tray and the drain is checked.
- A TR19® certificate and photo report follow the clean.
Getting ready for the visit
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Move anything stored near the system
- Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
Get a fixed quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.
Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.
