What affects the quote in Riseden

You will get a fixed price before we start. It’s based on:

  • Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • The number of sites or systems
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule

The cost depends on the size of the system, the condition it’s in and how easy it is to reach. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

What we need to know

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price the work. Useful things to send:

  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Any previous report or certificate
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • A few general shots of the system

Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Call or email with a few details and you will typically have a fixed price within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

AHU cleaning in Riseden

The fan pushes every bit of air in the system, so dirt on the impeller and housing gets spread around. Fan, housing and the surrounding panels are cleaned as part of the job, once the unit has been shut down and isolated. The work covers supply and extract fans, drain trays and internal panels, and people most often call us about condensate trays that won’t empty and odours coming through the supply air.

Work in a small place like Riseden starts with agreeing access and timings, and the ventilation is inspected, cleaned and recorded the same as anywhere.

Think of the report as the system’s health record: dated, with photos, and showing what was done. Grease extract cleans are also certificated to TR19® Grease through the BESCA VHE portal and sits alongside the report.

Your questions about AHU cleaning in Riseden

Do you work overnight in Riseden?

Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. It means the site in Riseden keeps running as normal. When you call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email, mention when the site is quiet.

Do you offer AHU cleaning in Riseden?

Yes, Riseden is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Just call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with a few details of the site.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes, every time. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

How much does AHU cleaning cost?

We don’t publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: the size of the system, its condition, access and when we can work. You get a fixed price before work begins.

Can you fix a faulty AHU?

AHU cleaning is what we offer here, not mechanical repairs. If we spot a fault, we note it in the report for your maintenance team to follow up.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we’re fully insured. We also hold CHAS and SafeContractor for clients who vet their contractors.

What is TR19?

TR19® is the BESA specification for keeping ventilation systems clean. Since 2019, TR19® Grease has been a standalone specification for grease in kitchen extract systems, while TR19® Air covers other supply and extract ductwork.

What happens to the waste?

We take it away at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained to keep the area clean.

Multi-site and managed buildings

Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.

If you look after several sites, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Each site gets its own report and photos, so each one has its own record.

Keeping the system healthy

A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. We recommend:

  • Keep the area around the fresh air intake clear
  • Book the next check in line with the report
  • Keep filter changes on time and recorded
  • Don’t ignore odours coming through the grilles

We recommend when the unit should next be inspected or cleaned, taking into account how dirty it was. Under TR19® Air the timing is set by inspection and risk, not a fixed calendar.

Check drain trays and condensate drains during routine maintenance. A drain that’s cleared early never gets to the slime stage.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Staff cleaning and specialist work are not the same thing. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.

Honest limits

Before you book, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Damaged coils beyond cleaning
  • Dirty ducts beyond the unit itself
  • Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors

If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think.

What the work covers

  • Internal panels
  • Dampers and louvres
  • Supply and extract fans
  • Heating and cooling coils
  • Drain trays
  • Filter sections

How the visit works

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes half a day to a full day per unit, with large plant planned over several shifts. Somewhere as small as Riseden, the date and timings are agreed with you well before the day.

  1. We survey the unit from pictures or on site and agree what’s included.
  2. With your site team, the unit is switched off and isolated, then the area around it protected.
  3. Filters are dealt with as agreed, and the coils, fan and casing cleaned.
  4. Standing water and slime come out of the tray and the drain is checked.
  5. You get a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
  • Arrange a key holder or contact on site

Why act early in Riseden

Leave an AHU uncleaned and the dirt does not stay put. It’s carried through the ductwork and out of the grilles, which is why the unit and the ducts are best cleaned together. If the system at a site near Riseden fails, there may be nowhere nearby to move to.

Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, which can make the next visit longer. If you are unsure, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email for straight advice and a fixed quote.
